Review: Doraemon: Nobita's Chronicle of the Moon Exploration (2019)

This movie is a must-watch for fans of the "Big Five" (Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo). It successfully blends science fiction with folklore. If you are watching on a smartphone or have limited storage space, this is an excellent way to experience one of the franchise's better modern films without sacrificing the "classic" feel of the dub.

The plot kicks off when a lunar probe captures a mysterious white shadow on the moon. While Nobita claims it’s a "Moon Rabbit," he is ridiculed at school. Naturally, Doraemon comes to the rescue with the "History Explorers Club Badge," allowing them to create a rabbit kingdom on the far side of the moon.

The inclusion of both the original Japanese track and the Hindi dub is the highlight of this specific release. For many Indian fans, the Hindi dub carries immense nostalgia, featuring the familiar voice cast that made the show a household name.

The story takes a turn when a mysterious transfer student named joins the gang. The adventure shifts from a whimsical sandbox to a high-stakes rescue mission as they discover a race of people with "Espal" powers and an impending threat from a distant planet. It’s a classic Doraemon formula: start with a simple gadget-based fantasy and escalate into a cosmic battle for friendship. Visuals and Technical Quality (480p BluRay)

This film features some of the most fluid animation in the "New Doraemon" era. The action sequences, particularly the escape from the lunar base, are dynamic and visually engaging. Audio and Localization
