The story finds Bridget single again after her relationship with (Colin Firth) collapsed years prior. After a music festival fling with a charming American billionaire named Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) and a brief, nostalgic reunion with Mark just days later, Bridget discovers she is pregnant. Unsure which man is the father, she eventually becomes involved in a "paternity standoff" where both men compete for her affection while preparing for fatherhood.
