Despite its slow pace and "slice-of-life" feel, critics from sites like Psychocinema note that it tackles heavy themes of societal isolation and the search for "home" in a world that often treats individuals as disposable.

While the film follows a former sex worker who finds peace working at a seaside bento shop, its core is about the "bento box" of the human soul: neatly compartmentalised on the outside, but full of varied, often messy experiences on the inside. Call.Me.Chihiro.2023.NF.WEB-DL.1080P(CM).mp4

If you're watching this 1080p WEB-DL, pay close attention to the seaside scenery; the film uses the natural light and coastal breeze to mirror Chihiro’s own sense of freedom and transience. Call Me Chihiro (2023) - IMDb Despite its slow pace and "slice-of-life" feel, critics

Unlike typical redemption arcs, Chihiro doesn't hide her past or seek forgiveness; she simply exists with it. Her presence at the Noko Noko Bento stand acts as a neutral ground where other "lonely souls"—from neglected children to grieving adults—can feel seen without being judged. Call Me Chihiro (2023) - IMDb Unlike typical

The film subverts the "manic pixie dream girl" trope. Chihiro doesn't "fix" people with grand gestures. Instead, she offers mundane companionship—sharing a meal or a simple conversation—demonstrating that sometimes the most profound healing comes from just being in the same space as someone else.

After playing this epic game for over a year, gameplay has become somewhat repetitive in the fighting department.
You forget one thing. When the game is finished, people are unlike to play it for a year. Most of them will likely finish story a couple of times, try arcade and that's it. You are only playing it for so long, because it's early access and we keep getting regular updates, which gives a feeling of repetitiveness due to how long the game is developed.

That is a fair point, but on the other hand, this game is intended to be a fair amount longer (hint: arcade mode is intended to be twice as long) and with a big game verity is essential

Well, Arcade mode offers more than just skills. There are town upgrades that affect gameplay and will keep you busy for a while. Also, current Arcade Mode has like 2/3 planned floors (it's supposed to have 24 IIRC).

If new skills would ever be added, I think it would be cool if they were secret skills. Nothing could be more rewarding than finding a scroll with completely new skill, maybe from some new elemental. Or an upgrade to existing skills, something like Super Skillpoint, that adds a new charge level increasing skill's power drastically. Of course if these were to be added, there should be choice on what new skill you want to unlock or what skill to upgrade, because scrolls with fixed skills force a particular gameplay.
