The story begins at a suburban intersection where Rajeeb Khandewahl, an Indian taxi driver, accidentally strikes a teenage boy. Though Rajeeb immediately reaches for his radio to call for help, a mob of white onlookers—fueled by racial bias—drags him from his cab and brutally beats him.
