As the endless horde closed in on him in the shadow of a massive gothic cathedral, Sam pulled the trigger. A localized supernova erupted from his hand, vaporizing every alien asset within a mile in a silent, blinding flash of pure white energy.

A cosmic glitch—or perhaps a deliberate sabotage by Mental's elite guard—sent the starship spiraling out of the space-time continuum. Instead of deep space, Sam found himself plummeting back toward Earth, falling through the clouds of a different era entirely.

On the screen, a progress bar sat frozen at 99%. The file name read: Datoteka: Serious.Sam.HD.The.Second.Encounter.zip.part . Datoteka: Serious.Sam.HD.The.Second.Encounter.z...

"Come on," Aris whispered. "The Resistance needs this data. If Mental’s forces breach the firewall before we extract the tactical logs of the Sirian Time-Lock, we are dead."

He leaned back in his chair and looked at the data file one last time. "Give 'em hell, Sam," he whispered. "Wherever you are." As the endless horde closed in on him

In the dark bunker, Dr. Aris Karamanlis gasped and opened his eyes. The neural link disconnected with a high-pitched whine.

"Great," Sam muttered, his voice a low rumble. "I survived a giant pyramid alien just to get lost in the bushes." Instead of deep space, Sam found himself plummeting

But Sam had found the ultimate weapon of the Sirians: the Serious Bomb.
