Leo had found it in his late uncle’s storage unit, wedged between a collection of vintage ham radios and stacks of handwritten notebooks filled with complex coordinates. Leo spent an hour hooking floating debris, expanding the plastic footprint of his floating home. It was peaceful, almost therapeutic, until he noticed the first anomaly. A wooden crate drifted toward him. When he pulled it aboard and opened it, it didn't contain palm leaves or scrap metal like the others.
