A native of Naperville, Illinois, Marshall began her athletic career playing baseball for four seasons in the Naperville Little League before switching to softball at age 12.

Following her tenure with the Bandits, she joined the Cleveland Comets in December 2018, where she has continued her professional career.

Marshall served as a Graduate Assistant at Saint Leo University (2016–2018) and later as the Head Softball Coach at Judson University from 2018 to 2019. sammy marshall
