Vasya gains a supernatural ability to receive "breaking news" notifications on his phone about events before they actually happen.
Initially, he uses this "Taaza Khabar" (fresh news) to escape his dire circumstances. He and his friends—Madhu (a sex worker and his love interest), Peter, and Mehboob Bhai—begin winning big through sports betting and other schemes.
The story follows (played by Bhuvan Bam), a sanitation worker in Mumbai living in poverty with his family. His life takes a dramatic turn when he receives a mystical blessing from an elderly woman he helps.
