The 2001 Japanese horror film Kairo (also known as Pulse ), directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa.

Josh's girlfriend, Mattie Webber, teams up with a computer owner named Dexter McCarthy to find a way to stop the invasion before the entities consume the entire human population. They discover the creatures are coming from another dimension and attempt to use a specialized computer virus to shut down the system. Production & Style

Co-written by horror icon Wes Craven and Ray Wright.

The story begins with a computer hacker, Josh Ockmann, accidentally channeling a mysterious wireless signal that releases a malevolent force into the world. This force manifests through digital screens, draining the "will to live" from anyone it touches, leading to a massive wave of suicides.
