The Worlds of Urras and Anarres
(known in English as The Dispossessed ) is a landmark of science fiction literature, awarded the Hugo, Nebula, and Locus awards. Subtitled "An Ambiguous Utopia," Ursula K. Le Guin's novel explores the tension between individual freedom and societal structure through a dual-narrative comparison of two worlds.
The novel’s core is the juxtaposition of two radically different societies: the capitalist, patriarchal, and opulent planet and its anarchist, communist moon Anarres .
